Academic Achievers of the BS Degree Program

IIT Madras BS Degree program recognizes and awards the students for exemplary academic performance in the program . Certificates awarded to such students are listed below.

Certificate Types and Eligibility
Certificate Type Eligibility Level in which the Certificate is Issued Program
Certificate of Academic Excellence Awarded to students with the highest CGPAs in the calendar year.
  1. 1. Upon completion of BS level
  2. 2. Upon completion of Foundation + Both Diplomas
 DS, MG, AE, ES
Direct Entry Diploma:
Upon successful completion of the Diploma in Programming or Diploma in Data Science through direct admission. 		Direct Entry Diploma
Certificate of Academic Distinction Awarded to students with a CGPA of 9.50 or higher in the calendar year.

  2. 2. Upon completion of Foundation + Both Diplomas
 DS, MG, AE, ES
Certificate of Merit Awarded to students with a CGPA ≥ 9.00 and < 9.50 in the calendar year.

  2. 2. Upon completion of Foundation + Both Diplomas
 DS, MG, AE, ES

* If more than one student has the same CGPA, the certificate will be awarded to both. The actual number of awards is decided by the committee each year.

Cash prizes for IITM BS Data science and Applications program

Cash prizes are awarded to students who achieved the highest CGPA at the end of BS level and/or completing the Foundation + Diploma levels in the BS in Data Science and Applications program.

Kewalram Chanrai Group Award – Female Redington Foundation Rs 50,000/- cash prize & gold medal Awarded to Topper - Female who secures the highest CGPA on completing the Foundation + Diploma in Data Science in the BS in Data Science and Applications program.
Kewalram Chanrai Group Award – Male Redington Foundation Rs 50,000/- cash prize & gold medal Awarded to Topper - Male who secures the highest CGPA on completing the Foundation + Diploma in Data Science in the BS in Data Science and Applications program.
IITM BS Degree Institute Award – Female IITM BS Degree Program Rs 50,000/- cash prize & gold medal Awarded to Topper - Female who secures the highest CGPA on completing the Foundation + Diploma in Programming in the BS in Data Science and Applications program.
IITM BS Degree Institute Award – Male IITM BS Degree Program Rs 50,000/- cash prize & gold medal Awarded to Topper - Male who secures the highest CGPA on completing the Foundation + Diploma in Programming in the BS in Data Science and Applications program.
